Intensive Driving Course
Crash courses and Intensive Driving Lessons
Most of us naturally assume that taking an Intensive Driving Course of say one week is the quickest way of passing your test – it is not and in reality, can take longer than by taking our 6 week Intensive Driving Course.
The main reason for this is that you would ideally want a Driving Test at the end of your course and due to the fact that we cannot book the Driving Test until you have passed your Theory Test we cannot book the course until you have passed this test. So we have to wait for a couple of weeks for your studies and then apply for the test. Only when you have your pass certificate can we book the test – which currently has a 6 to 8 week lead time. So the whole process will usually take a minimum of 8-10 weeks.
However in the event that it is speed you are interested in!
▪ You should apply for your Driving Theory Test today
▪ You can start taking all available lessons from tomorrow
▪ As it usually takes 2 weeks to study & pass your theory test you will probably be able to complete enough lessons to get you to test standard by the time you passed your Theory Test.
▪ It is recommended that you apply for a “Short notice” Driving Test which will often come through within a day or so.
It is possible to pass within 3 weeks with this approach
If you still like the idea of taking an Intensive Driving Course then please read on – as we have both Intensive Driving Courses and Structured Driving Courses
Intensive Driving Courses or Crash Driving courses – normally require 5 hours per day and can be taken over 2, 3, or 5 days.
The 5 day Intensive Driving Course lasts for one week, start on Monday and finish on Friday and we will book your test for the week following your Intensive Driving Course, 2 and 3 day courses work in a similar way where we will try to book your test on the day following your Intensive Driving Course.
What are the drawbacks for this type of course?
▪ In the event that feel ill or unwell we cannot re-arrange the course because the instructor will have already committed that time to you and we will not be able to arrange other work with such short notice.
▪ You will probably not learn as much, hour for hour as you would in a series of standard Driving Lessons, due mainly to the additional pressure that you will be under.
▪ During the course of any series of Driving Lessons you will find that on some of your Driving Lessons you will progress more than on others. This is natural but you should consider, how you would feel if the day before your test you suddenly started to make a real mess of things. Neither you nor your Driving Instructor would have the time left to rebuild your confidence prior to your Driving Test
Our preference is for less pressured courses:
The 6 Week Intensive Driving Course – Consists of a course of 2 to 3 Driving Lessons per week usually spread over a period of 6 to 9 weeks (this is dependent on the Driving Test lead times in your specific area). We will book your Theory Test for you at the beginning this is so you will be studying at the same time as taking Driving Lessons. The Intensive Driving Course can be designed as a beginners Intensive Driving Course but it is strongly advised that you book an assessment Driving Lesson in the first place so that both you and we can get an accurate idea of how many lessons you will actually need. The Intensive Driving Course cost includes the following:
▪ The cost of your Theory Test
▪ The cost of your Practical Driving Test based on a weekday test fee
▪ 16 One hour lessons – that can be booked for either during the day or evening
▪ Also included is your pre-test Driving Lesson and the use of our car on your Driving Test
The main advantages of this course are that if you do not make the progress required then together we have the time for additional Driving Lessons before your Driving Test.
10, 15, 20 or 25 hour courses – Driving Lesson packages these are usually taken at the rate of 2 hours per day leading up to your Driving Test. The decision as to which package is the right one for you is taken together with your Driving Instructor after your assessment Driving Lesson. This type of Driving Course will include the hours as selected in addition to the cost of us booking your Driving Test and a pre-test Driving Lesson and use of our car on your Driving Test.
Other stuff
We are based in Billericay and cover the surrounding areas of Hornchurch, Romford, Rainham, Upminster, Dagenham, Stratford,Barking and more. Driving Lessons Billericay Driving School is a wholly independent chain of Driving Schools offering both Manual and Automatic Driving Lessons.
Driving Lessons Billericay Driving School welcomes, and caters for pupils of with any level of driving experience and ability who are seeking to take Driving Lessons.
Additionally we off Driving Lessons with an Automatic Car, some people ask why? Automatics are becoming more and more popular for multiple reasons. Some people want or need to pass their Driving Test quicker and whilst we cannot guarantee this, we can confirm that it is easier and quicker to learn to drive in an automatic car.
For some of us we find it simply too difficult to use the gears and clutch in a manual car as well as everything else that we have to do when learning to drive. This is not uncommon and an automatic car allows the pupil to focus more on their road skills rather than the controls of the car.
It is sometimes pointed out that if you learn to drive in an automatic car you are limited to driving only automatic cars for the rest of their driving career. On the other hand most of those people who already drive automatic cars would argue that they have no wish to drive manual, including many who have learned to drive in a manual car.
